Sydney Leigh Allen was born in Abbington, PA to Michael E. Allen (a pastor) and Leslie F. Allen (a homemaker). She showed an early interest in acting (announcing to her family at the age of 3 that she was going to be an actress). She spent her childhood performing in community theatre and putting on shows at her family's church and in their living room. Upon graduation from High School, Sydney attended the Playhouse North School of Theatre in Calgary, Alberta. There she received an intensive immersive theatre education including two years of training in the Meisner Technique with certified Meisner teacher Cindy L. Macaulay. Sydney then spent nearly a decade performing in regional theatre. Some of her favorite roles include Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Penny in Hairspray, and Cecily in The Importance of Being Earnest. She has also had the privilege of appearing in Les Miserables and Phantom at the historic Fulton Opera House and has performed in four productions at Sight & Sound Theatres including the world premiere of Jonah. In 2018 she made her Broadway debut in Rocktopia at The Broadway Theatre starring guest powerhouse rock vocalists Dee Snider (Twisted Sister), Pat Monahan (Train), and Robin Zander (Cheap Trick). Following the Broadway run of Rocktopia Sydney moved to Lose Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. In 2020 she was part of the talented ensemble cast of An Invasion at Dinner.
