At just 8 years old, Ashlie Stevens had taken gymnastics and karate lessons, and was an award-winning equestrian. Her need for speed translated to the field when she joined the track team in elementary school. Ashlie became known for her explosive take-offs and speed in sprinting -"The anxiety and adrenaline rush felt seconds before the start of a race comes back to me every time I am about to audition, go on set, or perform for a live audience." As a young girl, Ashlie loved to play dress up and watch action movies and television while she dreamed and talked to her grandma about the future. A career in acting was never a consideration because Ashlie thought the domain was reserved only for the elite. A dysfunctional home life distracted Ashlie from her dreams until she was adulthood. At age 16, Ashlie worked a fast food job and earned enough money to run away from home. She purchased a one-way ticket from Florida to England in search of inspiration and her favorite band, U2. Years later, after two children, a divorce, and a successful career in IT, Ashlie went back to college to study education and literary journalism. A severe automobile accident changed her course, and she again found herself in need of inspiration. Assisted positively by chiropractic, acupuncture, swimming, and passion for life, she overcame the odds. Ashlie found passion upon taking a writing class as therapy, during which she learned to enhance character development in storytelling. During this course, she was bitten by the acting bug and has not been the same since. Favoring indie filmmaking, Ashlie enjoys the pursuit of artistic opportunities and the creation of meaningful works from nothing - "I want to be involved in stories that transport the viewer from their own reality and take them on an awe-inspiring emotional journey, and maybe even change lives along the way."
