As a child, Bentley spent hours upon hours drawing ceaselessly behind the big green couch in the living room with his father's Sharpies. There he explored a world of imagination. Though he wasn't always able to express his thoughts or feelings verbally, he was able to communicate through vivid illustrations, and at that he was unbeatable. Artistry was in his blood. In 5th grade, Bentley grew a profound interest in film and began making his very own using a hand-held camera and featuring most of his peers. These home movie adventures soon became highly developed epics, and by the time he reached high school he was producing films for the school, church, and local businesses, and submitting to festivals. It was around this time Bentley decided it was his turn to be in front of the camera. What started as mere cameos in these films cultivated into a true passion for acting and film, and before long he was a flourishing icon in his small town. To fuel his ongoing fervor he took theatre in high school, playing lead roles in classics like The Crucible, Of Mice And Men, and The Teahouse of the August Moon. As if it wasn't enough, he performed in a number of community theater productions as well. Then, in 2006, the summer came along that changed Bentley's life. The summer just before his senior year of high school, Bentley was accepted into the six week summer acting intensive at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. It was there that he discovered that this is what he would devote his life to. Upon arriving back in Texas a reinvigorated young man, Bentley yearned to return to his newfound home in Hollywood. Be it divine intervention or a stroke of good luck, his zeal earned him a spot in the major curriculum of the School of Theatre, Film & Television at UCLA, and he would rejoin his dreams and begin to construct their reality. In 2007, Bentley graduated from The Woodlands Christian Academy with highest honors. Pledging his allegiance to the past 9 years spent at this lucrative facility, he headed off to college to explore a new realm of creativity. A year into this artistic wonderland, things took a turn for the worse when Bentley was impelled to withdraw from school due to financial circumstances. At just the right moment however, he was approached by a talent manager who convinced him to move to Hollywood to fuel the fire within. Instantly sold, Bentley packed his things and prepared for the next step. In no time, he exploded onto the scene, landing lead parts in Indie shorts like The Black Bag and Chill, and featured roles in television shows including CSI: NY, and Nickelodeon's Big Time Rush. Soon after, he attained SAG eligibility for his role in the web-series Roomies, which he wrote and directed, thus classifying him a professional actor. Bentley doesn't consider himself an actor, but an artist - just as an athlete wouldn't consider himself merely a quarterback or a shooting guard. Michael Jordan did the same. And it doesn't end there. Bentley continues to create his own future to this day. Check out more of this website to discover the latest, the greatest, and the futures that await Bentley Montes.
