Considered one of Virginia's finest up-and-coming talents, Russell started his racing career not behind the microphone, rather behind the wheel of karts at age 7. In 1998, leaving a passion of speed, Russell grew fond of race announcing, radio and television talents and being exposed to as many people as possible. The late NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series was Russell's big step to cars as a young 15 year old announcer. Giving up driving, he took his talents all the way to NASCAR's biggest stage, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, at Richmond International Raceway. In 2009, Russell's biggest moment was voicing a multi-award winning racing documentary named Racing Dreams, produced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
