Fredrick Zal is an AASECT certified sexuality educator, scholar, architect, sculptor and performance artist in Portland, Oregon. Credits include Sirens Call, Mer*; Grimm, Extra; Lady Wasteland, Cannibal; Societas Insomnia, Set Designer; Seraphic Society, Dancer; Animalia, Dancer; Immortalia, Dancer; Bogville, Actor; Illume, Dancer; Harmos: Slomo, Dancer; Ephemere, Set Designer; Angoisse della Macchina Opera, Director and Actor; and CoHo Theatre "Child of Pleasure", Set Designer Fredrick teaches applied art students about design by speculating upon fundamental concepts of light, bodily movement, mechanical kinematics, material narrative, and shared cultural memories. Fredrick's sexuality education work nurtures erotically marginalized communities, and partnerships by teaching mindfulness, ritual, communication, consent, sexual attitudes reassessment, tantra, kink, and other embodied erotic pathways with an ever broadening understanding of power differentials, socio-political impacts over the centuries, and ways to truly dismantle what they feel in their blood and bones to be a corrupt and flawed acculturalized system.
