Anthony Dowling

My name is Anthony Dowling and I live in Raleigh, North Carolina. I was born in Saint Petersburg, Florida in 1962. I graduated in 1985 with a BS in Political Science from Western Carolina University. Loved the major and loved the college. But went into the IT field right out of school. After nearly a full career in IT with some of the biggest IT companies in the US, I decided to go into the nonprofit field. I have been an Executive Director of Eno River Media since its inception in 1999. Working with a network of industry professionals, Eno River Media supports efforts to establish more full time independent media industry jobs and create a stronger, permanent film economy through professional development education. We accomplish this philosophy by advocating every year to the NC Legislature for the growth of the movie and television industry; sponsoring film festivals; advocating the green aspect of the film industry through planting holly trees; promote live performance of filmscores for the independent film industry by advocating for the North Carolina Film Orchestra; and issue awards for outstanding service or products associated with the film and television industry. I have been around awhile! In 2011, I started off on the adventure of continuing education and earned my first Maters in Education Administration from Strayer University in 2014. I kept it up and received my second Masters in Public Administration in September 2017. In late September 2017 I started the final chapter of formal education, a PhD, with entrance as a Doctoral student with Capella University majoring in Nonprofit Management.
