Shaquan McDowell

At the young age of 18, not many young people share the ambitions of Shaquan; an element implanted in his DNA. Born in the Upstate of South Carolina, the origins of Shaquan's family possesses long standing American identity. Descending from American patriots in the Revolution , Shaquan boast relation to many Patriotic ties, including his distant cousin Thomas Jefferson. Shaquan's upbringing reflected the patriotic nature, of his ancestral ties. Forth of July celebration's were extensive, colorful, and symbolic of the adoration his family had for the nation they resided in. This love and patriotic spirit, found its way into Shaquan's heart as well, and as he aged he became more concerned with the well being of his country. Along with this aging and new found understanding of America, Shaquan began to discover the sickness that our government had begun to succumb to. Encountering tragedies and events such as 9/11, The Newtown Massacre, and The Boston Bombings at a young age left him aware of the turmoil we as a country were in. What struck him as even more astonishing, was the fact that after all these tragedies, the two party system always failed to find justice and resolution as they were too busy fighting with one another. From these points, Shaquan became committed to insuring that this division and downward spiral of our country, would be halted. With his determination to bring the country back together and restore the values, which founded our nation, Shaquan founded the Purple Party in his Sophomore year in High School and declared his candidacy for President in 2036. With television appearances, speaking awards, leadership experience, and the support of his fellow youth, Shaquan is dedicated to moving America in a united direction. Though appropriating himself to be an advocate for America's future, Shaquan also takes pride in his acting capabilities. Since the age of infancy, Shaquan has taken the stage as his other home, making his first theatrical appearance as baby Jesus in a church Christmas play. Since then Shaquan has gripped the dynamic of theatre and film alike, assuming the role of director, writer, and actor. His comprehension of entertainment has engraved his love for the stage, into his personality.
