Hana Sofia Lopes was born in Luxembourg in 1990. She is a Luxembourger actress, of Portuguese and Canadian heritage. After graduating from Lisbon's Theatre and Film School in 2012, she studied at France's National Drama Academy in Paris: the Conservatoire National Supérieur d'Art Dramatique de Paris (CNSAD). Her first film was Julian Temple's Sexual Healing where she starred alongside Vicky Krieps and Brendon Gleeson. Since 2013 she has appeared in a dozen TV series through Portugal, Luxembourg and Germany. She played the queen of Portugal in RTP's prime time historical television series "Ministérios do Tempo". Her role in "Coraçao d'Ouro", a TV series watched daily by 1.8 million people, has made her popular in Portugal. In 2018, she played the leading female role in "Toy Gun" directed by Marco Serafini, alongside John Hannah, Julian Sands, Federico Casteluccio and Golden Globe winner Anthony Lapaglia. Her performance in this film, has landed her a best actress nomination at the Luxembourg Film Awards, the "Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis". She was recently cast in "Dreamland" directed by Bruce McDonald, alongside Juliette Lewis and Henry Rollins. She lives between London, Paris, and Lisbon acting both in film and on stage. She is fluent in French, Portuguese, German, English, Spanish, Dutch and Luxembourgish.
