Polly Guentcheva

Polly Guentcheva is a Film Director and Producer from Sofia, Bulgaria. She graduated first in Law from Sofia University and after finishing her study in Film and TV Directing at New Bulgarian University, she set up her own film company Tara Tree Pictures Ltd. Her debut in filmmaking starts in 2011 with her most-awarded short film "Salty & Sweet" ("Soleno I Sladko"). She has co-authored 3 shorts films and continued her film career by shooting music videos, as well as promotional videos for motorsport. In 2014 she became a co-producer of one of the most successful Bulgarian films - "The Judgment"("Sadilidhteto")- selected for the Bulgarian Oscar nomination for a foreign language film. In 2016, she started shooting a documentary with the Bulgarian mountaineer Boyan Petrov, who died unexpectedly during the shooting process in Nepal and Tibet in 2018. Polly continues her work on the movie in memory of Boyan and it is expected to be released in 2021.
