Chris Collier was born on August 1, 1973 in Brighton, East Sussex, England. He is a director known for FrightFest: Beneath the Dark Heart of Cinema (2018) and Phometrica (2015). His work is primarily as a documentary filmmaker, where he has also produced a variety of projects including Morbid Fascination: The Nekromantik Legacy (2014) and In Conversation with the Death King (2014). In contrast to this, the majority of his other work tends towards experimental art-house where he has made a number of films including several one-off installations. His initial work in film was primarily in the sound department, completing the sound design on a number of projects. This included the sound restoration for feature documentary The Woods Movie (2015). The initial move to film was a natural progression from music production, a field where he continues to work. Whilst developing future projects he has continued to work in both the sound department and as an editor on a number of short subjects and feature films. He is a founding partner in the 24 Foot Square production company.
