Originating form local Sydney Club Pennant Hills, Lenny Hayes was a stand out performer for the St Kilda Football Club over a 297-game career. He was awarded All Australian Honours on three occasions and won the Norm Smith Medal for Best on Ground in the AFL Grand Final in his team's drawn final against Collingwood in 2010. Hayes captained St Kilda in the 2004 and 2007 seasons. Renowned for his tremendous work ethic and exceptional tackling skills, Hayes was a favorite with the St Kilda supporters as the heart and soul of his team. After his retirement as a player in 2014, Hayes spent a year working with the AFL on a number of projects before accepting a role as an Assistant Coach with the GIANTS from 2016 onwards.
