Guillermo del Toro's Godson at "Gobelins, Animated Filmmaking MA" where Diego graduated with 2 short films as Director. He also had a big influence as Technical Director throughout the whole graduation film and specially in achieving the final look of the film's Proof of Concept and trying out 360° tests on it. His presence at Gobelins was crucial for the school and for the Mexican art legacy by being a bridge for the creation of the ANIMEXICO scholarship's. Also thanks to his constant pressure on showing the vast Mexican talent, Guillermo del Toro decided to grant 3 scholarships instead of 1 at the first generation of scholarship holders. Diego is profoundly grateful for Guillermo's constant help on pushing people and artists forward. At "Klaus", animated feature film nominated at the 2020 Academy Awards, he developed the Proof of Concept on the most complex shots, making 3D scenery look like 2D illustrations seamlessly. On the "Lego City Adventures" TV Series, he collaborated with the Pipeline Development Team, thanks to his past experiences as Technical Director on short films and as Layout Artist and 3D Generalist on feature films. Official Selection at SIGGRAPH Asia 2019 on his Gobelins graduation short film "Bound". Had the opportunity to present "Ana and Bruno" at it's world premiere in Annecy International Animation Festival in 2017, and had the pleasure to work on the film for 2 years under the direction of Carlos Carrera. Diego has also participated in other fields of art, such as collaborating with Mexican Painter Ivan Villasenor Castaneda with Video Art, and working as assistant for the Scenic Designer Ingrid SAC and Jorge Ballina, and as Camera Asistant in Live Action short films. Organizing events has also been a constant, such as promoting Mexican short films at Animacité Animation Festival and to Gobelins students inside the school's Pierre Ayma screening classroom.
