Carissa McAllen

Carissa McAllen works professionally across film, television, theatre and voiceover. She holds a Bachelor of Psychology and has trained with some of the industry's finest teachers and directors. In 2019, Carissa participated in masterclasses with international acting coach, Larry Moss, renowned voice coach, Patsy Rodenburg, and esteemed director/teacher Iain Sinclair. Carissa's professional television highlights include Nowhere Boys (ABC), Paper Giants: Magazine Wars (ABC), Neighbours (Channel 10) and Conspiracy 365 (Foxtel FMC). In film, Carissa won a best actress award for her lead role as Evie in Evie Wants A Baby (Lollapolooza Films). In 2018, she featured in sci-fi film New Dawn (Pandora Productions), and filmed lead roles in Attitude Will Get You Everywhere (Movement Media) and A Piece of Us (VCA Masters). In theatre, Carissa received outstanding reviews for her lead performances as Teresa in The Memory of Water by Shelagh Stephenson (Chapel Off Chapel) and as Olivia in Sex With Strangers by Laura Eason. She has relished performing on-stage the works of many Australian and international playwrights/writers, including Edward Albee, Harold Pinter, Shelagh Stephenson, Laura Eason, Anton Chekov, Henrik Ibsen, James McLure, Theresa Rebeck and more.
