Adanna Kenlow was born in Long Beach, California, to Wanda Kenlow, a homemaker and public health educator, and Tommy Thomas, a jazz musician, teacher and composer. Kenlow began acting in high school, and made her stage debut in "The Friends of Julia Dark", a play about teen drug and alcohol usage. Soon after, Kenlow saw an improv group perform, and was inspired to pursue a career in comedy. While touring with Chameleon Comedy, pursuing a short-lived stand-up career and acting in sketch comedy group Daycation Theatre, Kenlow also began acting in independent films, community theater, writing, directing and producing children's theater, as well as her own web content.
