Matt Marr

Matt Marr is originally from the Atlantic Provinces of Canada. Raised in a military family, he was born in Germany on a Canadian base in the city of Lahr. Receiving Canadian Citizenship at birth due to the Canadian Citizenry of both his parents, he and his family returned to Canada in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. Later relocating to a small town outside of Saint John, New Brunswick, he spent most of his upbringing dancing, and acting, before moving to Toronto, Ontario after graduation to pursue his career in the performing arts. Marr now resides in Los Angeles, California on a Greencard. Since his first performances in competitive dance, live shows, short films and musical theatre performances in his hometown, Marr became recognized among his community for his notable stage presence and moving performances. He went on to collect numerous titles, trophies, awards and scholarships along the way, also taking a summer program at the National Ballet School of Canada. Matt has appeared in a Feature Film as a Supporting Role since moving to Los Angeles and has been training extensively at multiple studios in the area. Matt looks forward to playing a various range of roles and is deeply passionate about the craft and about experiencing new roles and characters to play. From Comedic to Dramatic, nonfiction to fantasy, he looks forward to continue exploring the journey. Matt appeared on So You Think You Can Dance Canada's fourth and final Season. He went on to finish third place for the title of Canada's Favorite Dancer. This experience instilled his confidence and realized the sky was the limit in what was capable for him and that he could truly accomplish his greatest dreams, no matter how high. Throughout his career, Matt has worked in many facets of the industry. Matt's had appearances on 'Glee', 'I Mom So Hard', 'Ellen Degeneres' Oscar's Promo', 'Radio Disney Music Awards', 'Russell Peters Christmas Special', 'Warehouse 13', 'Bombgirls', 'The Marilyn Dennis Show'. Matt is also a dance Educator and Judge, teaching and judging for competitions / conventions across North America.
