Dr. Greg Grobmyer was born and raised in Forrest City, AR. He attended Forrest City High School and was active in many clubs and organizations. He played lead roles in several productions, including the role of Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls, Kenickie in Grease, and Mr. Mushnik in Little Shop of Horrors. He continued his drama training throughout his undergraduate studies at Hendrix College in Conway, AR, where he earned a degree in Chemistry, but ceased acting during his doctoral training at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He graduated and entered private practice as a dentist in 1999 in Jackson, TN. Dr. Grobmyer was featured in many commercials over the decade he was in practice, both for his dental office and several other businesses. A diagnosis of colon cancer in 2009 led to him leaving the practice of dentistry, but afforded him the opportunity to pursue his love of acting, beginning with regularly performing stand up comedy, opening regularly for nationally recognized acts and joining a talent and modeling agency with agent Harvey Boyd, who also owned the comedy club where Grobmyer often performed. This soon led to an association with producer/director William "Wilky" Fain who found him roles in various TV and movie productions, including a recurring role in "The Verdict" as a defense attorney.
