Internationally-recognized composer Daniel J. Stimac draws from a unique background of diverse musical influences, having gained his writing and studio experience in Amsterdam, Turkey, Hawaii and Los Angeles. His experience across cultures and musical genres has placed him in demand as a composer, arranger, and producer on a wide range of projects. Daniel's song "Almost Had It All" was nominated for the Achievement in Music - Original Song in the the 2017 Canadian Screen Awards (Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television). "Almost Had It All" was featured in A Date with Miss Fortune, a romantic comedy feature film for which Daniel also wrote and produced the score. He also composed, mixed and produced the score for Spit: The Story of A Caveman and a Chicken, winner of the "Gold Kahuna Award" in the 2013 Honolulu Film Awards. His orchestral and electronic arrangements, as well as his production, appear on many albums, including Hakan Girit's album "Rüzgar", Goodbye Elliott's "I'll Never Let You Go" and "Summer", his own album, "We're Gonna Make It", and on various tracks in television and movies. His musicality is rooted in his experience as a seasoned performer, often picking up a guitar, ukulele, or bass guitar when needed in a recording session or concert. Through assisting a score mixer for major film studios, Daniel learned the requirements of creating music of the highest quality for film and TV. He combines his experience in the high-pressure, deadline-oriented environment of the entertainment industry with his wide knowledge of audio equipment and music software. Rather than follow the conventions of the industry, Daniel has developed a unique musical style and approaches his work with originality and depth, often integrating the influences of his native Hawaii. Wanting a more well rounded and grounded education, he studied at UCLA Extension, enrolling in the Film Scoring Program. He has also been an active board member (since 2017) in the Academy of Scoring Arts, a leading community of industry professionals dedicated to the art of scoring.
