Sarah Webb was born in Nashville, Tennessee the daughter of Samuel Stone Butler and Carolyn Horton. Growing up she enjoyed art, singing in choirs and performing in school theater productions. Settling on a career in fine art, she graduated with honors from the University of Tennessee and later studied art at Vanderbilt University and in Europe. Based in London since 1983, she is best known for her realist portrayal of contemporary European society and figurative studies of the modern woman. Having won numerous awards, she is listed in "Who's Who in American Art" and the British "Who's Who in Art". Her work has been exhibited around the world and profiled on NPT television and NPR radio. Married to attorney and author, Gary A. Webb, she currently divides her time between Chicago, London and Nashville.
