Douglas Stuart McDaniel is a writer, director, and producer of two feature-length documentaries, The Lovelies of John Alan Maxwell (2013) and Legends of Appalachia: The Ace Miller Story (2015), and the upcoming feature-length SAG-AFTRA film, Flirting with Azrael: a Psychedelic Rock Musical (2018). He is the president and Creative Director of Storyhaus Media, LLC, in Knoxville, Tennessee. His film projects have been selected for film festivals in Portland OR, Charleston SC, Los Angeles, Cincinnati OH, New York City, Ramsgate, Kent, England, and Knoxville and Bristol, TN. He has written and directed several other short films, and written three one-act plays for the Tennessee Stage Co. and the Mabry Hazen Museum. McDaniel has produced and directed music videos for former Judybats frontman Jeff Heiskell's for the songs "I Want More Life", "Still Life with Broken Heart" (2017), and @Alexanderbear69 (2018), The Royal Hounds Mema Wants to Dance (2016), and bluegrass group Dixieghost's "Clermont" at Atlanta's Clermont Lounge (2015).
