Rory Chenoweth, a graduate from the Adelaide Conservatory of Music, and the Australian Film Television and Radio School offers over 10 years experience in composing music of all genres. His musical career started with heavy metal band 'Tidal', who together toured nationally around Australia, playing at many music festivals, including the 'Big Day Out' in 2004, and wrote 2 full length albums, one of which "Impulsive Disturbance" debuted in the Aria's monthly top 50 album charts in 2003. Throughout his career as a rock musician Rory was still a passionate admirer of contemporary classical music. After many years as a musical performer Rory decided to follow his passion for composition and enrolled himself at the Adelaide conservatory of music, and has had tuition from Professor Charles Bodman Rae, John Polglase, David C. Harris and Graeme Koehne. After completing his undergrad he then moved to Sydney to study screen music at the world renowned Australian Film Television and Radio School, where he was metored by Martin Armiger, Kirke Godfrey and Christopher Gordan. Since studying at the Elder Conservatorium of Music and AFTRS, Rory has collaborated and composed music for theatre performances, contemporary dance performances, short films and feature films, Network TV shows and TV commercials. He has also had concert works performed by the Menagerie Ensemble, the Lumina Vocal Ensemble, and the Australian String Quartet and regularly records his film scores with instrumentalists from the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. He is a guest composer with sound and music company Uncanny Valley,where he has composed music for TV shows such as 'House Rules', Kebab Kings, and 'My France with Manu', as well as the launch and one year anniversary of new fox channel BBC First. Rory also frequently writes for Sydney based music library Melodie.
