Marcus LaQuinton John Thrash, was born in Mobile, Alabama to parents Marlon Sr. and Debra Thrash. As a young boy Marcus viewed acting as a pretending game where he imitated characters from movies such as Scorpion from "Mortal Kombat", Darth Vadar from "Star Wars", and Indie from "Indiana Jones." The young Marcus never thought his imagination was turning his "pretending game" into acing. Because Mobile is not supported with much theatre Marcus took to watching movies where he indirectly trained his imagination to expand outside its boundaries. From watching many movies Marcus came across the actor who forever changed Marcus's outlook on life and performance which was Denzel Washington. Denzel Washington's acting inspired Marcus to give acting a chance. It was not until years later he would have his chance to present the gift God has given him. After graduating from Mattie T. Blount High School in 2006 as salutatorian, Marcus received a full academic scholarship to Jackson State University. Before Marcus began training as an actor he was a graphic design major for two years. Marcus noticed how unhappy he was and had to make a decision.Marcus decided to switch from graphic design to speech communication and theatre after his sophomore year. Within his first year at JSU he managed to run into a particular campus organization called M.A.D.D.R.A.M.A. (Making A Difference Doing Respectable And Meaningful Art) Performance Troupe. With M.A.D.D.R.A.M.A. Marcus trained hard and competed in a conference called the National Association of Dramatic Speech Arts where he won Superior Ranking in Most Dramatic Monologue Award and All Star Cast Award. Marcus soon realized that God had destined him to stay on the path of acting and continued to pursue it. After JSU Marcus attended Texas Tech University's M.F.A. Performance & Pedagogy graduate program, but after two years in the program Marcus left because he was confident and skilled to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles, CA.
