Lauren Sevigny was born in Lexington, Kentucky where she started pursuing acting at an early age. Lexington is gifted with a thriving theater community, and becoming a part of that community was essential to her growth as an artist. She attended the University of Southern California where she studied theater and film. She studies with Craig Archibald, and has to dedicate her real actor education to him. In 2017, she was named a finalist for the Sundance New Voices Writers Lab. She's a member of Public Assembly, an emerging theater company in LA, where she writes and directs. Mission statement: I strive to honor the characters I write by creating pathways for actors to access them, through relatable wants, needs and motivations. The kind of stories I want to tell explore the dynamic and universal relationships people have with each other and the relationship individuals have with themselves. I will always endeavor to create art that is specific, grounded, honest and gorgeously silly.
