Neil Giroday was raised in a small town on the west coast of British Columbia. His work on film includes the lead or featured roles in FILUM, Prisoner of War, Max Lozzer, Margaret and the Dollhouse, The Ongoing Audition, Colours, Using the Mirror, Internal Affairs, Fathers and Gaiety and My Dinner with Shakespeare in which he plays William Shakespeare. Giroday is a graduate of the Professional Workshop at the Circle in the Square where he studied acting with Larry Moss, Nikos Psacharopoulous, Edward Berkeley, Alan Langdon and Jacqueline Brookes. Other teachers include Moni and Mina Yakim, Lucille Rubin, Jessica Wolf, Bill Reed, Nora Peterson and others. Giroday studied the Meisner Technique for 5 + years with William Alderson (Associate Director of the Neighbourhood Playhouse with Sanford Meisner for 20 years), and with Fred Kareman at Carnegie Hall Studios. Giroday his adolescence as a competitive figure skater. Under the tutelage of Linda Brauckmann, Giroday was the Junior Men's Figure Skating Champion of Canada, Silver Medalist at the Canada Winter Games, Western Canadian Senior and Novice Men's Champion and was twice named the Most Artistic Skater in British Columbia. A Professional Actor, Singer and Dancer, Giroday has performed in theatres across Europe and North America. His many plays include All My Sons (Chris), Three Sisters (Andrei), Orphans (Phillip), Home of the Brave (Coney), Dogg's Hamlet, Cahoot's Macbeth (Ophelia) and Enemies (Ryabtsov). He played Alonzo, Mr Mistoffelees, and Skimbleshanks the Railway Cat for more than 5 years with the Vienna, Zurich, Basel, and First International Tours of Cats. Other musicals include 3 productions of A Chorus Line (Greg), The Pajama Game (Steam Heat Boy) and The Wizard of Oz, in which he played the Cowardly Lion for 8 months.
