Rodrigo Mattos

Actor, writer and producer Rodrigo Mattos is known for his ability to develop and portray complex layered characters through compelling and unconventional storytelling. That ability began as a child in Evanston, IL. Rodrigo was born to an architect father and an mother who studied classical piano and art in Paris and Chicago. Taking after his artistic mother who raised him, Rodrigo quickly became enthralled with acting, painting, photography and dance. He also discovered a passion for playing sports that connected his mind and body. After graduating college Rodrigo traveled extensively through Europe and South America, hoping to observe diverse cultures and enhance his language skills. He studied Mandarin for a year in Asia. Languages came naturally to him, with a family that spoke English, Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese. He returned to the United States to continue his drama studies and to hone his career as a dramatic artist. That included creative writing, dramatic training in Uta Hagen process and Viola Spolin theater games, and comedy studies at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and Lesly Kahn & Company in Los Angeles. He excelled in improvisation and multi-camera techniques for comedy and sitcoms. Hoping to connect in his interest in writing and producing with his acting skills, Rodrigo founded Antagonist Pictures in 2009. The full service production company delivers unique and entertaining audiovisual content. As an experienced young filmmaker and performer with a natural curiosity about people and cultures and a gift for sharing original stories, the industry is waiting to see what Rodrigo Mattos does next.
