Kenneth B. McLaughlin Jr. was born in September of 1970 to the parents Ken McLaughlin Sr. and Pamela Phelps. Ken, through out his youth traveled the United States visiting all 50 states. Fascinated by the world of movie magic, up on the big screen and even the Saturday Creature Features, he was drawn to the works of Lon Chaney, Lon Chaney Jr., Sam Winston, Rick Baker and Tom Savini. Every chance Ken got he would watch shows to explain the world of special effect mack up and then he would try it himself with the limited resources he had available to him. Through out his teens and young adult life Ken became known between his friends as the guy to go to for your FX make-up which made him very popular during Halloween time. In his 20's Ken began working on a low budget TV show where he learned more tricks of the trade and learning what the camera sees and doesn't see and how to film on a shoe string budget. His work became popular in San Antonio, TX the town he was living in at the time. After meeting his wife Paula he moved back to the Los Angeles area to raise his family where he works as in the software business. The weekends are spent with his family and thinking up and build new effects or various costume projects.
