Kazem Mollaie, born in 1981 in Sabzevar, Iran, started filmmaking with short films in 1999 and holds a B.A. in Cinema Directing from the "Soore University of Tehran" in 2005. He is known for his debut feature film named Kupal (2017) and his short films like Delete (2011) and Minus (2009). The Badger (2020) is his second feature film, which was nominated as the Best Film at the "23rd Shanghai International Film Festival" in its World Premiere.
