Cameron grew up in Warwickshire, focusing a lot on sport and music until his late teens. He began to act during A-levels with some local drama groups, but it wasn't until he went to university (initially studying European and International Law) that he decided that acting was what he wanted to do as a career. A graduate from Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, he has been working as an actor ever since.
