Wilson Polanco, Better known as Gnomico, is an MC hailing from Dominican Republic. Prolific in many ways, he is a Music Producer, DJ, Actor, Cultural Promoter and Social Activist. He also produces and conducts his own news segment, Noticias en Rap, on Primetime Dominican TV Chanel CNDN. A weave of rhythms like jazz, funk, salsa, blues all fused with rap is just one of the characteristics which makes him stand out in Dominican Hip-Hop. But it's his cool control of linguistic word-play and his hard-hitting, very socially and culturally conscious lyrics that set him apart on a class of his own. Gnomico has credited many artists as musical influences and inspiration for his very unique sound. From Ruben Blades, Victor Victor, A Tribe Called Quest, House of pain, Cypress Hill, The Roots, Mos Def, Black Moon, Heltah Skeltah, Toque Profundo, Nux, Cultura Profética, Calor Urbano, Santo Domingo Funk Crew, CocoBand, Pete Rock & C.L. Smooth, Pavel Núñez, Rita Indiana y los Misterios, Company Flow, Black Starr, K.R.S. One, Rakim, Los Amigos Invisibles, Playero y Reel 2 Real... Just to name a few. He's also known for his collaborations with renowned Latin artists such as Pavel Núñez, Víctor Víctor, Danny Rivera, Bocatabú, Pochy Familia, Villanosam, José Antonio Rodríguez, Roy Tavare and others. With the release of his latest musical proposal, Sinergia, there's definitely a special buzz of excitement in the air. And that's because Sinergia is unlike anything else he has ever ventured. Sinergia is seeking to make us take a good look at ourselves, at our culture, at our people and our sound and fall back in love with our Dominican heritage. But Sinergia is not limited to only Dominicans. It's Far from it. . Sinergia is an attempt to transfer Dominican cultural identity to present and future generations of the world. At the same time using this momentum to promote and proudly elevate Urban Art.
