Sofia Squittieri was born in New York, New York on June 13, 1991. She soon moved to Alfaz del Pi (l'Alfàs del Pi), a coastal town in the province of Alicante, Spain, with her family. She soon showed her interest in performing and joined the Theater Group in School and took Ballet Classes; her teacher was Elizabeth Burr who transmitted her the passion and love for the stage. At the age of 18 (2009) she moved to Madrid (Spain) to start her professional studies in Acting in the prestigious 'Escuela de Interpretacion Cristina Rota' (Method Acting). Here, while studying Theater, during four years, she also tested her abilities, learned, trained and practiced in a play called 'La Katarsis del Tomatazo'. She was also part of the cast of 'España 2013: cuando las ovejas miran el Horizonte' which was coordinated by the Spanish actor Alberto San Juan. Her debut in feature films was in 2013 with Mil sonrisas (2014). She majored in 2009 and moved to Los Angeles, where she attended UCLA for a year -she was granted a scholarship. She stayed there one more year, acted in several productions and kept training at Stella Adler. Now, back in Spain, she continues training and working as an actress. In Los Angeles, she's known for El Landlord (2016), White Stain (2014) -lead-, Restored Me (2016) , Eleanora: The Forgotten Princess (2015), Icebox (2014) , Believe (2014), Farewell to Brundibar (2014), Sense of Loneliness (2014), Beyond the Rye, We want some, amongst other titles. She also appears in one episode of the series "The Bay" (2014), "Derek And Cameron" (2014), "Cougar Town" and "Black-ish" and in several Music Videos like "End Of The World" (2014) by Lil Larry. She's also been in the web series "Hollywood Bros' " and was the lead in the feature based on real events "Lita". In Los Angeles, she also had roles in Spanish Productions such as the short film "Las Tres Cerditas" (2014). Since 2014 she works both in Los Angeles and Spain, where she has recently worked in several features like Yerma: Barren (2017) , based on the play from Lorca, "Así Como En La Lluvia" (2014), "Di Cua Cua" (2015), she is the lead in "La Noche Americana: Cine High Cost" (2015). She also appears in the pilot "A Broad in Madrid" (2015), filmed in Madrid and directed towards the US audience, in "Condenados" (2015) and in "A tu vera". The last shortfilms she's in are "El coloquio de los perros" in tribute to Cervantes, "Billy Boy", "Pequeña serenata nocturna" y "Yo a ti te conozco". In theater, she's been in "Macbeth", "Yellowstone" and "The Catcher in the Rye" (11/2015-06/2016), the three of them in English; and in Spanish, in "Instinto suicida" and "Google Todopoderoso" which she wrote. In Los Angeles she wrote, codirected, coproduced and acted in the shortfilm Calltime (2016) . Now, she's working in two different theater projects and has been casted for some film projects too. She also keeps writing scripts.
