Former collegiate golfer and broadcast star Holly Sonders was a reporter and host on FOX Sports. Having joined the company in July of 2014, Sonders served as one of the primary on-air talents for FOX Sports' United States Golf Association event coverage throughout the year, while also performing sideline reporter duties for a package of NFL games and contributing to FOX Sports 1's flagship studio news programs. A native of Marysville, Ohio, Sonders found a passion competing in golf throughout her adolescence, winning her first organized tournament when she was just seven years old. She carried that development into high school where she lettered and earned all-league and all-district honors in each of her four years. Boasting a fantastic academic and athletic resume, she received a scholarship offer to Michigan State University to join the school's highly-regarded women's golf program. In East Lansing, Sonders started all four years for the Spartans, earning Academic All-Big Ten honors following her sophomore and junior seasons, while also helping lead the team to a Big Ten Conference championship in 2007 and then on to competing in the NCAA Championship tournament twice. After earning a degree in journalism from Michigan State, Sonders embarked on a career at WBNS-10TV in Columbus and then she quickly moved to the Big Ten Network. In 2011, at the age of just 23, she sought to take advantage of her extensive playing background and attended an audition for NBC's upstart Golf Channel. She landed a job as one of the original cast members of the channel's hit morning talk show, Morning Drive. Possessing strong tactical knowledge and impressive comfort on camera, Sonders contributed to a number of the network's different programs over the next three years, including School of Golf and Playing Lessons With the Pros, becoming one of Golf Channel's most popular personalities.
