The Rah Band was a British electronic soul/funk/disco studio group formed by conductor, arranger, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Richard Hewson in the mid-1970's. The Rah Band took its name from Hewson's initials. The group scored a Top 10 hit in 1977 with the groovy instrumental "The Crunch," which peaked at #6 on the UK singles chart. The Rah Band went on to enjoy a steady succession of dance hits. The group landed a second Top 10 hit in 1985 with the lovely and touching ballad "Clouds Across the Moon," which also peaked at #6 on the UK singles chart. (The sweet lead vocal for "Clouds Across the Moon" was sung by Hewson's wife Liz.) Moreover, the Rah Band not only chalked up seven UK hits altogether, but also recorded and released a handful of albums on a diverse array of labels which include KR Records, RCA Records, TMT Records, and DJM Records.
