Lucy DeLaat is an Amazon International Bestselling Author, Canadian/American Actor, Screenwriter, Director and Producer. She has appeared in numerous television shows and films, as well as produced her own commercial work. She has a background in Production, Screenwriting, Direction, Performance, and many entrepreneurial endeavors. In past work in advertising, marketing, and as a consultant, she has an impressive client list. Her clients have included: PolyGram Records, Playboy, Universal, Mirvish Entertainment, and M.A.C Cosmetics. She was responsible for the visioning and execution of the world's first online fund-raiser for HIV/AIDS around CanStage's production of Tony Kushner's, Angels In America. In addition to being a fully accredited ACTRA performer and Member of the Academy, she has many screen works registered with the WGA. Lucy has penned many feature and short films, which have been seen by millions in Europe and Africa. Her recent feature, Nana Means King was nominated for Best Screenplay in the UK during a televised awards ceremony in 2014. In 2016, and in her forties, Lucy began her journey and challenges with Stage 4 Early Onset Colorectal Cancer. Having been misdiagnosed and having had related health issues for nearly eight years prior, she has since become an advocate and spokesperson for awareness and care for this disease. She is inspired by #NeverTooYoung to educate doctors when children, teens, and younger adults to be aware, and not dismiss known symptoms so it can be caught early for a cure. She is a powerful adversity coach who works with #MeToo and cancer survivors, those living with care trauma, survivors of business and relationship challenges, and for those looking to explore a shift towards spiritual growth. In addition to current film and other endeavors, and living with Stage 4 cancer, she remains active in various charity work for Women's/Human Rights, health care reform and Early Onset CRC awareness for patients and clinicians. Lucy is available as a speaker, consultant, workshop guest and writer.
