Elizabeth Shum

Award-winning Writer-Director-Artist Elizabeth Shum is the the owner of Rarefied Films. Elizabeth grew up in Alabama but left when she received a scholarship to the School of Visual Arts in NYC to study Fine Art and CGI Film Animation. She had her first taste of Filmmaking when she cast her hometown friend, Glenn Howerton - star of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," in her student short film. Upon graduation, Elizabeth lived in Atlanta, where she worked as a Flash Animator and background painter on Cartoon Network ads for "Dexter's Laboratories." After moving to Los Angeles, she became a Digital Producer for web and TV commercials at Campbell-Ewald - the same company her 3rd cousin, Dinah Shore, starred in Chevrolet ads 60 years earlier. Now Elizabeth works at Disney as a Global Program Manager in streaming technology. She spends all her free time on her true passion - filmmaking, to achieve her dream of directing feature films and TV series. Most of her scripts fall within multiple genres like live-action Sci-Fi, Drama, Adventure, Comedy, or Pixar-style Animation. Whether her own or someone else's, Elizabeth wants to bring stories to life.
