Emily Soto was born in Maryland and raised in St. Paul, Minnesota. With her bright, quirky spirit she's the very definition of "Minnesota Nice." Emily has loved performing and making people laugh since she was in preschool. Eventually, she knew she wanted to be an actor. She pursued theater and on-camera classes whenever possible. She attended the St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists High School, and went on to earn her Acting Degree at Columbia College in Chicago. One of her most notable roles was that of Anne in The Control Group, an independent horror film. It premiered at the Twin Cities Film Festival and later showed at the AFM Festival in Los Angeles. Critics at Addicted to Horror Movies were impressed by Emily's performance. She's definitely a young actor to keep an eye on. In 2015, Emily made the big move to Los Angeles, where she resides today. For now, she's focused on building a career in the industry she loves. Written Quotes: "There are a few gems to be taken away from the picture, and all three of those gems come in the form of impressive performances; Brad Dourif and the unknowns Ross Destiche and Emily Soto; we may end up knowing these two well." "though she doesn't have a large part in the film, she too brings good energy and dedication to the project. It should be interesting to see where her career heads from here" --Addicted to Horror Movies, The Control Group Movie Review "Emily, we very much enjoyed your performance. It was very true to life, which is what we are looking for." --Film Producer, Casting Director, Christopher Burgart "Emily is a unique artist in every way. At first glance you see a quirky character actress. But when you look a little deeper, the thoughts, the complexity, and rich well of emotion that support each line make her so much more than that. This makes her uniquely qualified to tell a story in a way that only she can. In other words, what you get from her you can't get from anyone else." -- Award Winning Writer/Director, John Hindman "I can't say enough great things about you. You have such an authentic and caring disposition. I absolutely believed that you sincerely cared about this stranger you just met. I'd be surprised if I didn't see you show up on television shows in the next couple years." -- Film Producer, Casting Director, Emile Touri
