Cliff Ellis' passion for acting began at the ripe age of 7 when he was cast as an extra in Bruce Beresford's Paradise Road when it was shot on location near his hometown of Port Douglas. After being accepted into the Flinders Drama Centre, Cliff has been cast in varying roles with each more challenging and diverse than the last. Cliff has had the honour of playing the blind prophet Tiresias in Oedipus; Melchior Gabor in Spring Awakening, directed by Rosalba Clemente; Brett Sprague in Gordan Graham's The Boys, directed by Sarah Dunn; Trofimov in Anton Chekhov's The Cherry Orchard, directed by Corey McMahon; Nick Bottom in A Midsummer Nights Dream, directed by David Mealor; African American drag queen Belize in Angels In America (Millennium Approaches), directed by Tom Healey; and United States Colonel, Garret Gray in The Art of War, also directed by Tom Healey. Cliff has a love and avid appreciation for all forms of acting, but his true passion lies in screen acting. He recently finished working on a series of short films entitled Lads which explores misogyny in Australian culture, and is set to be released for the festival season in the near future. Cliff has now moved to Sydney, signing on with Michelle Horner from Ignite Elite Artist Management to pursue his career in stage, and screen acting.
