Jaymi Brooke Stritter

Jaymi-Brooke was born in North London. The youngest of four siblings in a large extended family. She quickly learned that if you wanted to be noticed being cute just wasn't enough. Encouraged by doting Grandparents she loved to sing and dance - appearing from behind the living room curtains with a flourishing 'Taa - Daa!'. At school this interest was noticed by teachers who often chose Jaymi to perform in school plays and as her confidence grew so did the parts. As she moved through the school system her love of acting continued to grow. Wanting to extend her experience she studied Drama and Music but also joined a local amateur dramatic group where the roles became more diverse. She was also able to take part in musicals such as the Wizard of Oz and Grease, and later on the Bizet Opera Carmen. Like most actors Jaymi has had a varied working career . This has ranged from the Post Office, Maternity Hospital, Personal Assistant to a Managing Director and Teaching in a Special Needs school. This interaction has given her a good insight into people of all ages and stages of life, sometimes at their most vulnerable . She is able to draw upon her empathy and experience of people to use in her work to add depth to the characters she plays. Throughout her adult years, Jaymi mixed theatre with screen work however it was during a fringe theatre performance in 2012 that Jaymi was spotted by a seasoned writer/director who cast her as a leading lady in an upcoming television series. This sparked a renewed passion for tv/screen acting and Jaymi has since won a number of increasingly pertinent and varied roles. Although Jaymi is credited as a great comedic actress, she has been asked to reprise the role of Kirsty,a victim of domestic abuse in forthcoming Urban Feature Film, The Family which will begin filming later this year (2014). Two additional Features in which Jaymi appears are due for release in late 2014. At home she is the mother of two young girls who share her love of acting, singing and dancing. They keep Jaymi up to date with the current trends and are her greatest critics making sure she continues to work hard to achieve her best performances.
