Katerina Wong is a dancer, choreographer and actress originally from New Jersey and recently graduated cum laude from Princeton University. She majored in Anthropology with a concentration on East Asian Studies and Dance. There she was fortunate enough to work with and perform pieces by Mark Morris (Grand Duo, Canonic 3/4 Studies), Twyla Tharp (The Fugue), Susan Marshall (Name by Name), Camille A. Brown (City of Rain), Zvi Gotheiner (Chairs), Rebecca Lazier (Twelve Women Dancing), Cherylyn Lavagnino (Surrender My Soul to Rest), Christopher Williams (Tir'na Nog), Ze'eva Cohen and Tina Fehlandt. Her student choreography was chosen to be performed at four consecutive Spring Dance Festivals in Princeton's Berlind Theatre (2007-2010) and showcased at the 2008 'Ivies @ Cunningham'. Katerina served as the Artistic Director of Princeton's student-run BodyHype Dance Company and was a member of the musical theater company, Princeton Triangle Club. After Princeton, Katerina moved to Beijing as a Princeton-in-Asia Teaching Fellow at China Foreign Affairs University. There she had the opportunity to train with Beijing LDTX/Modern Dance Company, help assistant-direct/choreograph for the Future Dance Ensemble of Peking University and launch a series of dance workshops for the Migrant Children's Foundation. Katerina danced in the evening-length piece, Zero Hour, with Philein/Ziru Productions both on tour in Beijing (Dec 2010 and 2011) and in their home season in Mountain View, CA (Sept. 2011). Recently, Katerina choreographed BrickaBrack Theatre's inaugural dance theatre production, Stalking Christopher Walken, which was awarded Best of the SF Fringe Festival. Since moving to San Francisco, she has had the pleasure of dancing with Raissa Simpson's Push Dance Company, Kathryn Roszak's Dance Lumiere and Bianca Cabrera's Blind Tiger Society as well as with Cera Byer and Anne-Rene Petrarca. Katerina works part-time as Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program Coordinator and continues to dance and choreograph professionally in San Francisco and the Bay Area.
