Visionary guerrilla filmmaker Keith Lea is a Stockton C.A. native who has 2 degrees, one in "filmmaking" from "San Francisco City College" and another Degree in "Communications" "Radio and Television", from Stockton C.A. "San Joaquin's Delta College". After the death of his brother and being shot twice himself, he wanted to change. One day while watching t.v. in San Francisco he watched a young filmmaker on t.v. by the name of Matty Rich who had made a movie called Straight out of Brooklyn. This gave him the spark. Before this, he watched Spike Lees "She's Gotta Have it" years earlier and found his new hero in a filmmaker "Spike Lee". After hearing about Matty Rich and his love for "Spike Lee" he enrolled in San Francisco's City College majoring in film. He started his career off working for free as an intern on videos and movies throughout the Bay Area working on films such as "Mrs. Doubt Fire" with Robin Williams, worked his way up to a P.A. position on a Movie Called the "Tenderloin" in San Francisco, P.A.'d on "Mc. Hammer" Videos and interned for Channel 10 News In Sacramento. Keith never losing hope or ambition in writing and directing his own movie's one day, he set out to find a company that would executive produce his first Movie. After years of looking for an executive producer for a movie, he was trying to get off the ground "Inner City Life" for Bay Area Rapper Spice 1, he couldn't get the funds to get the movie made. Years later finding funds for another movie, Keith ended up writing and directing a movie for Black Market Records & Films titled "Greedy" available now on amazon.com. The movie went on to play at film festivals such as the "San Francisco Black Film Festival", the "Hollywood Black Film Festival", "The Las Vegas Film Festival", "The Sacramento Film Festival", and The "Augora series" Cannes France - The Cannes Film Festival for Black filmmakers. His last film release "Fumes Of Fury" a Docudrama about graffiti was out now on amazon.com until his distributor went bankrupt and they has to take it down that he wrote and directed. Keith is now working on the release of his current film "The West Coast An AmeriKKKan Dream" made into a series, Written and Directed by Keith Lea.
