Miriam Rizea was born on December 10th 1988 in Ramnicu Sarat, Romania. She attended Drama Class at the "Margareta Sterian" High School in Buzau, where she made her stage debut at age 16 as Esmeralda in "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". She graduated both B.A. and M.F.A. in Acting at the National University of Theatre and Film "I.L.Caragiale" (UNATC) in Bucharest and has since been engaged in numerous productions, both film and theater. 2010 marks her debut on the Bucharest stage with two productions: "Scrooge", adaptation after "A Christmas Carol", directed by Ana Cucu and "Graffiti Drimz" written and directed by Alina Nelega, at the Odeon Theater. In theater she is known for playing Ileana Cosanzeana in "Imparatul Neimparat" (by Filip Columbeanu, director Radu Stoian) at the Nottara Theater and Lucieta in Badaranii (by Carlo Goldoni, director Dan Tudor) at Metropolis Theater. On film, she has worked for international productions such as a Pilot for the When Calls the Heart (2014) Canadian Series, and Oscar Nominated director's John Boorman Queen and Country (2014). Domestically, titles include De Ce Eu (Tudor Giurgiu) (2015) and French-Romanian co-production, The History of Love/L'histoire d'amour (Radu Mihaileanu) (2016). Noticeable short films include Dormi Trezeste-te (Andrei Stefanescu)(2012), and Il Bambino (Liviu Craciun) (2014).
