Lotfy Nathan is an American filmmaker. His first feature film, the documentary "12 O'Clock Boys", for which he received the HBO Emerging Artist Award, has been selected in over 50 international festivals, including SXSW, Sundance LA, Lincoln Center, Viennale, Hot Docs, London and Copenhagen. "12 O'Clock Boys" was subsequently distributed in the United States by Oscilloscope, then purchased by Showtime and Amazon, and optioned by Will Smith's company, Oberbrook Entrertainement to adapt it into a drama. In 2015, Lotfy was a recipient of the Creative Capital and participated in a Cinereach Foundation director's residency. He had previously been a recipient of the Garrett Scott Fund, the Peter Reed Foundation, the Grainger Marburg Fund, and the IFP Fellowship. His first feature film, "Before Spring", for which he participated in the Sundance Film Institute's Writing Workshop, is in preparation (June, 2021).
