Joya Kazi is an Indian-American choreographer and actress born in Mumbai and raised in the Bay Area, California. She founded her dance company, Joya Kazi Unlimited, at 16 years old and began working in both the Hollywood and Indian Film Industries. She is the CEO of Joya Kazi Entertainment and moved to Los Angeles in 2012 to further pursue her career in dance & acting. She is a World Choreography Award Nominee, Telly Award Winner, and Universal Dance Award Nominee. She has appeared in projects spanning Hollywood to India such as in TV Shows Never Have I Ever (Netflix), New Girl (FOX), Dance Deewane (Colors TV) and Dance Plus (Star Plus), in Commercials for Walmart, Hyundai, Radio Shack and Wow Skin Science, in Music Videos for DJ Snake ft. Lauv "A Different Way", Raja Kumari "I Did It", The Strokes " Threat of Joy", and in Indian feature Films "I am Singh", and "Na Peru Surya Na Illa India." Joya double majored in Political Science and Theatre & Dance with an emphasis in Choreography & Production Management at UC Davis with a minor in Managerial Economics. She received scholarship for the NYU Tisch Performing Arts Industry Essentials Certificate program. She grew up studying Indian Classical Dances, Kathak, Odissi & Bharatnatyam, which provide a strong foundation and authenticity in her Indian/Bollywood dance work.
