Kirsten Knisely is a Los Angeles based writer and director. She began her career as a playwright in her hometown of Detroit, most notably produced alongside Jeff Daniels at his Purple Rose Theatre Company. As a filmmaker, she's focused on content with a comedic, female-driven perspective. In 2019, after assisting Oscar and Emmy nominated director Steph Green on the pilot of Showtime's "The L Word: Generation Q," Knisely was promoted to Writers Assistant for the remainder of the season. In 2022, Knisely and her creative partner / sister Caitlyn Knisely developed and produced an original sketch comedy series about the climate crisis called "Earth Girl." Her narrative work has been featured on Elizabeth Banks' WhoHaha, and screened at LA Comedy Fest, LA's Funny Women Fest, and Vermont's ITV Fest. Knisely likewise works as a First Assistant Director across a wide range of commercial and narrative projects, including on the 2022 season of Netflix's "My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman."
