A computer scientist, Alan Eustace is best known for his daredevil free-fall jump from the stratosphere in 2014. He plummeted 135,908 feet in 15 minutes, which remains an altitude record. The feat of engineering was chronicled in 14 Minutes from Earth (2016). In the early 2000s, Eustace joined a startup business called Google, holding the position of Senior Vice President of Engineering from July 2002 to April 2015.
