Sebastian Peiter

As a former arts, media and Munich Film School screenwriting graduate, Hamburg born Sebastian started his television career in London by producing and directing youth and arts documentaries for ZDF, NDR, BBC, WDR, Arte, and 3Sat. After working as an in-house Director and Producer for BBC Arts in London, Sebastian became one of two Partners of SPTV Productions in London, who secured the URBANATION youth culture and travel series from Swiss state broadcaster SRF, which was sold to over 20 broadcasters worldwide. In 2006, Sebastian Peiter completed the 'Building the Creative Business' course held at London Business School. As a result, he launched the Manchester based production and distribution company Urban Canyons (UK). At Urban Canyons, Sebastian Peiter raised finance, created and successfully delivered drama-led history productions from all over the world, supported by Co-Executive and former A+E Europe programming director Richard Melman. During the pandemic in 2020 the multi-award winning Writer and Exec Producer oversaw delivery of GOD'S SOLDIERS 2x52min filmed in Malta. During the second pandemic year, Sebastian and his team delivered drama-led CHINA'S WARRIOR QUEEN filmed in China's Hengdian Studios to co-producers Bilibili, ViacomCBS, and ZDF / Arte. In 2021 Sebastian established Urban Canyons (Malta). Since 2022 Urban Canyons is moving into scripted programming for streamers and broadcasters. 'Urban Canyons' is a mobile phone industry term for areas without reception in urban spaces. In this way the company is discovering, financing, producing and distributing hidden stories.
