Freddy Macdonald

Freddy Macdonald is a Student Academy Award winner, and the youngest Directing Fellow ever accepted to the AFI Conservatory. His AFI admission short, SEW TORN, was executive produced by Peter Spears (NOMADLAND, BONES AND ALL) and was acquired by Searchlight Pictures. SEW TORN also received an Oscar-qualifying theatrical release nationwide alongside READY OR NOT. Freddy's AFI thesis film, SHEDDING ANGELS, won a Student Academy Award and was shortlisted for a student BAFTA. In addition to his narrative work, Freddy directed 4 music videos for 3x Grammy winner Fantastic Negrito, as well as his performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Recently, he directed two viral documentaries following hardware hacker Joe Grand. Freddy is represented by UTA, and is completing post-production on his first feature - a continuation of the SEW TORN narrative.
