Beatriz Mendonça was born in Coimbra in 1992. She was the lead in three theater productions at Escola da Noite and Teatrão, being the last one Romeu and Juliet which received and invitation by the Globe Theater in London to be presented there in the Summer. In 2012 She moved to Lisbon where she attended Act, and elevated her stage curriculum for three years. She was directed by Jorge Silva Melo at Teatro Politécnico, Nunu Cardoso in The Harmful Effects of Tobacco at Teatro Nacional São João, João Canijo in Hamlet, António Pires in Romeu and Juliet at Teatro do Bairro. She was in the second episode of Odisseia directed 2019 Golden Lion's nominee at the Venice Film Festival, Tiago Guedes. She moved to Los Angeles in 2012, she attended Santa Monica College and had Lessac training for years. Besides speaking fluent Portuguese, English, Spanish, French and Italian, with Lessac's Technique she mastered numerous American/British/Australian accents to the point of sounding like a true native. Beatriz Mendonça was mentioned in João Canijo's thesis. The veteran award-winning director described what it was like to work with Beatriz while directing her in Hamlet as she portrayed Ophelia. In his published works he only described working with other renowned two actresses. She has a background in classic and contemporary dance, from the ages of 6 through 12, she competed across the country as a professional swimmer for over 5 years. In high school she started taking horseback ridding classes from the military. During the first year she learned how to ride bareback, sitting just on a blanket and holding on to the horse's mane, she mastered a number of "tricks", like standing up on the horse and gymnastic-like movements, in order to feel truly comfortable and start jumping the following year.
