Born in Mayenne on October, 24 1960, the daughter of farmer parents, Agnès Poirier grew up in Burgundy. After the CUEJ, the school of journalism in Strasbourg, she joined the company department of the French channel Antenne 2 in 1985. In 1989, for the tv program Envoyé Special, she produced "Rap&Tag" on the emergence of the Hip-Hop scene and Street Art in Paris. In 1995, she filmed her family for France 3 during "The Last Harvest" of her parents, farmers in Burgundy. She tells, in an intimate story, the dilemma of the transmission of a farm when none of the children wish to take over. The film was shown in La Marche du Siècle in 1995. In 2003, she directed "La vie après" on the suicide of a young farmer. This documentary tells how the family and friends of this farmer take turns to keep the farm alive and face disappearance. It obtained the "special mention for the image" at Figra in 2003 and was broadcast on Arte. Agnès Poirier co-directed (with Virginie Lovisone) "Welcome to the real life of women", a 52-minute documentary broadcast on Canal in 2008 and which shows that inequalities between women and men persist. She then directed "Elles make the world go round", cross portrait of 9 women all over the world who question the relationship of women to work. This 2 x 52-minute documentary was broadcast on France 5, NHK, TV5 Québec Canada in 2013. She is the co-director (with Fabien Béziat) of the documentary "Nous Paysans", broadcast on France 2 on Tuesday February 23, 2021. This evening brings together 5 million viewers. She also directed the documentary "L'Installation" broadcast during the same special evening.
