Washington DC area film, TV and theatrical actor Kyle McGruther brings a full life of experiences, training, and a unique enthusiasm to every role. Since he started acting professionally in 2012, Kyle has performed nearly continuously, in 15 full theatrical productions, earning critical recognition for his acting as well as his early efforts at fight choreography, while gaining experience and training on film and TV sets, and in classes at Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory, Roundhouse Theatre Education and The Actor's Center Workshop Series. In 2015, he shifted his primary focus to on-camera work, following the completion of a starring role in independent feature-length film Finding Alyce, and several appearances on the FOX NEWS Channel's popular series Legends & Lies: The Real West and has continued his high pace of performance, including a featured role in PBS' forthcoming series Mercy Street, along with major roles in multiple national cable channel productions. Acting since he was a child, he realized lately in life how much he can bring to the profession, art, and industry of acting. Kyle has traveled and lived extensively, from childhood in a military family to a curiosity-driven adulthood, throughout North America, in Europe, Asia, and Oceania, where he has been a teacher, carpenter, builder, translator/interpreter (he speaks Japanese, French, and Italian, in addition to other languages at lower fluency), musician/band-manager, stagehand/roadie, waiter, tour guide, and has experience in fencing, boxing, football, horseback riding, firearms, sailing, farming, and practiced stage combat and stunt training intensively (Unarmed, Rapier & Dagger SAFD Certified 2015), and much more, all of which inform his ability to bring life to a variety of roles.
