Walt Perez

Walter Perez was born on August 30, 1987 in East Los Angeles, California. In 2008 he began working on independent films and web-series. In 2009, he founded the production company Verloren Productions, in which he has worked alongside various producers and developed fifteen short films and three television pilots. He has received accolades for his work as a director, producer and writer. For some time now, Walt has worked in various television shows for Warner Bros. Studios; Two and a Half Men (2003), The Voice (2011), Mike & Molly (2010) and The Kominsky Method (2018). He has also freelance for Walt Disney Pictures, Universal Pictures, Netflix Studios, Amazon Studios, Lionsgate, Macro and Bron Studios. Walt has made greater strides as a writer, producer and director in recent years with the critically acclaimed film Here in the East (2016). The film brought Walt numerous honors, including awards at the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival Awards, Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival and the Chicano International Film Festival for Directing and Best Film. Other offerings behind the scenes have included the comedies Picture Society (2017) and The Appointment (2014); The drama's Too Late (2018) and Layover (2019). In 2019, Walt captivated audiences with the psychological thriller Into the Night (2019), which he directed, produced and adapted from a story by Stephen King. After two successful premieres at the Dryden Theatre and Warner Bros. Studios; the film entered the Film Festival circuit in 2020. The film received acclaimed and various festival award nominations. Among its many honors, Adrian De Leon's performance was praised. With the film's success, the Producers locked a theatrical deal with AMC theaters. This theatrical exhibition was placed on hold due to the Covid-19 Pandemic. In 2021, Into the Night (2019) was qualified for consideration in the 93rd Academy Awards, under the Best Live Action Short Film Category. Walt continues to be active in film, with numerous production titles in development.
