Born in El Paso, Texas, Richard (Rich) didn't live there long before his parents moved him around, settling at age 6 in McCook, Nebraska. After living there for 12 years, they moved to Lincoln, NE, where Rich attended Lincoln Northeast High-school. At 14, he was sent to Child Adolescent Psychiatric services twice before being diagnosed with Bipolar disorder. At 16, his father bought him his first Electric guitar. Over the years, he continued to play music, but at 23, his passion for movie making started. In 2000, he married Loree Bauer, and they made the mutual decision to move to Washington state in 2002. While in Washington, Rich became a amateur student of film on the side while trying and failing to keep several jobs. In 2007, Rich and Loree divorced, agreeing they made a better friend than spouse to one another. To this day, they remain friends, Loree even keeping the Stripling last name. Rich moved in with his sister in Allegan, Michigan for a short time, then to Cherokee Iowa before finally moving back to Lincoln, Nebraska. Once back, he began a close working film making relationship with Dale Bacon, a long time friend and Local icon of Midwestern folklore. Dale became a producer on an attempt at adapting "At the Mountains of Madness" by H.P. Lovecraft. Tragically, before principal photography was completed, Dale died from kidney cancer that had metastasized all over his body. After Dale's death, Rich made the decision to put more focus in writing music for film (though still making films of his own) and opened "Nifleheim Soundscapes", whose focus is all sounds within a movie (score as well as sound editing.) As of this posting (2013), Rich works with many micro-budget Lincoln/Omaha film makers in an attempt to make Nebraska a film Mecca in in the Midwest.
